Anyone up for some competition!?

How and when did you get started with Deep Well?

I started at the gym in 2016 but left when we finished building our house. Last school year Kelly Morrison’s son was in my class and she volunteered weekly. We would chat about the gym and she would share some of the exciting changes being made.  I kept seeing all the fun posts from the Open and I knew I needed to get plugged back in.

What is your favorite movement or workout?
I enjoy AMRAPs that involve a running component. It keeps me engaged and allows me to compete against myself or a workout buddy which keeps me accountable for doing my best. 
What is your least favorite movement or workout?
When I first started with WELLfit, I hated rowing. Now that I’ve figured that out, the bike has become my new nemesis. I am short and the bike has just not been my friend.
What are your long term and short term goals?
My long term goals are to become leaner, healthier, to finally be able to do a pull up! Short term goals are to continue to become increasingly more confident in my body while gaining muscle. 
What would you tell someone who is on the fence about Wellfit and scared to try it?
WELLfit is a safe place where we have fun. We are all so supportive of one another and there’s a way to modify any workout where we are all doing equal work.  For people like me, who need a little competition to be sure you are always getting the most out of every workout, there are so many ways to stay accountable. First, Marissa will push you if she sees your are not pushing yourself. Then there are athletes of all levels where you can buddy up with someone who is guaranteed to encourage you. Finally, we keep track of our own accomplishments and can work to beat our last time/weight/reps. This can really work for anyone!
What kind of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting wellfit?
I’ve been at the gym for four months and have seen a big difference on the scale. I’ve learned to stop tracking calories and start focusing on protein. I feel like I have a whole new view on how to look at the nutrients our food contains.  
What is your proudest accomplishment so far?
For me, I love that my workouts here at the gym makes me stronger in ways that translate outside of the gym. I have more stamina and feel stronger in my day to day activities. My husband enjoys running and I have noticed that my stamina has increased enough to occasionally join him. That’s a big win in my book! 
What kind of changes have you experienced in your life since starting wellfit that you didn’t expect?
My personal spiritual choices are present in small ways in my gym. It’s a sign to me I’m in the right place. I love the prayers before events and the sense of community. 
What do you love most about deep well?
I love that our gym does lots of events that give back to the community and allows us to bond in different ways! 
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of wellfit?
I am a teacher at East Intermediate School and love my job! My husband and I have always searched for different ways to be active so we enjoy running, hiking, zip-lining, softball, or anything else that gets us outside and moving.  We have a 3 year old daughter who also loves to be outside and is always busy.  She is such a joy and I especially enjoy our summers together visiting friends and being in the pool!
